Yinstatic Dance

This special monthly session combines gentle movement, mindful downtempo music and deep therapeutic sounds for inner embrace.

‘Yinstatic’ dance is a relaxed, more spacious and intimate version of Ecstatic dance, bringing to the fore eclectic world rhythms and soothing vibrations for deep release, soulful connection, regulation, play and expression.

In a container for deep feeling and listening, embrace and explore various facets of the self and emotions that may have been hidden, allowing what comes up for you to be expressed with compassion and acceptance.

Musically the journey consists of live sound healing instrumentals and deep ambient soundscapes at the start, moving to a DJ mix across downtempo, world, emotive eclectic music.

Check out this mix to get a feel of the vibrations of this session, and Dr Foo’s Soundcloud for a variety of conscious dance mixes.

About Dr Foo

Sek Sheng, also known by his artist name ‘Dr Foo’, is a sound meditation facilitator & conscious musician/DJ who prescribes music for healing and integration of deeper aspects of the self.

Starting as an underground club DJ in Melbourne to changing his lifestyle to pursue Yoga/ Dharma journeys in India & Bali, and then learning the power of sound for therapy, he brings over 10 years of deep sonic tapestry for wellbeing.

His sound journeys weave therapeutic instruments such as Singing bowls, handpan & harp with hypnotic electronic & ethnic music across cultures, presenting deep and etheric journeys that move the soul. There is also an emphasis on owning our darkness before true healing and expansion can occur ~ no mud no lotus.

In sound therapy, Dr Foo has received training in Himalayan Singing Bowls from Master Shree in Nepal, multi instrument sound bath from Shervin Boolarian in Bali, and electro-acoustic sound meditation design from Divasonic and David Gibson based in the US. He is also a certified Hatha Vinyasa Yoga teacher and Vipassana meditation practitioner.
As a DJ, he plays Progressive, Downtempo, World and Ethnic music, with an inclination for deep journeys that integrate raw emotions with soulful melodies that promote understanding and expansiveness.

In recent years he has curated sound healing journeys, soundscapes for yoga and meditation events, as well as conscious/ecstatic dance events across various studios and festivals.
